Not your typical Fantasy is this book. It was a book that I didn’t want to put down. Still, there was so much going on that I found myself re-reading passages over and over just to get all that I could out of it. Normally I would say that as a criticism, but for this book it really isn’t. It is really was quite the page turning adventure.
I can honestly say this was not what I expected. This book is about Lilyth. At the beginning she seems to be not much more than a foundling. It doesn’t take long to find out she is much more than that, even if it takes a while longer to realize what she is capable of. Violence follows her wherever she goes, at first she has no memories to tell her why. As she regains her memories she is thrust into a civil war that threatens the fabric of reality itself.
This book surely did not go in the direction I thought it would and was one surprising turn after another. If you enjoy fantasy, you will enjoy this book, just give yourself plenty of time to read and absorb the pulse pounding adventure. I am looking forward to following the next installments to this series. Where this book ends promises to be great place to start again and there are so many unanswered questions.
I gratefully received a copy of this book in return for a fair and honest review
